codes and conventions for a horror film opening

depending on the type of horror film it is the opening can be different. for example if its a slasher film it is highly likely that someone will die within the first 5 minutes. if its a zombie horror than usually the cause of the infection or curse is shown within the first 5 minutes.

Research how films identify their target audiences.

my target audience will be young horror fans that enjoy jump scares, fear of unknown and the occult. And found footage styled films mixed with normal camera work that does not break 4th wall.
